It was an innovation of its time, which is why this quote has so far withstood the sands of time. It is well known across the world, and more so after the death of Steve Jobs. Apple was one legacy, 'Think Different' was another. This quote signifies so much to me. Ever since my sister introduced me to it way back in 2007, it has had a huge impact on our lives.
I really see it as words to live by. It's not just another passing phrase like YOLO or Only the Good Die Young (as much as I love Billy Joel!), or even 'Everything happens for a reason'. Because that's not really true, is it? As much as I would love to believe that things only go wrong because their happening for a reason, I believe so much more in the words by Steve Jobs. Especially in the last line, where he says 'The one who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do.' It's not rocket science. It's just a little of the saying 'Dream big or go home', and a a dash of 'If you can dream it, you can do it' (Walt Disney) and 100% originality. That's the recipe for success, and that's something that Steve Jobs was very skilled at.
So I'm going to put myself out there with a list of goals and aspirations for my life. I'm going to change the world when I become a journalist. Whether I become a travel journalist or a news anchor or a famous blogger or an investigation reporter, I'm going to change the world. I'm going to right wrongs or educate about interesting things that are LEGITIMATELY newsworthy and it's going to be awesome. See how I'm using an active tone? As in: I will, when I, it's going to be. I'm not saying...'if'. It' going to happen. I'm going to change the world. Everyone out there has a spark of genius, and it's just about finding it and realising that you do have the power to change the world.
I'm going to leave you with my favourite ever Ted Talk to accompany The Best Quote in the World. It talks about leadership and changing the world, and is guaranteed to make you laugh or cry or both!
So what do you want to achieve? Can you do it? I think the answer is yes. Believe in yourself and you can do it. Remember, you're not crazy; you're genius!
P.s. I am not an Apple Mac user...sorry <3 p="">3>
