You Only Live Once

I think that one of my favourite quotes at the moment is: 'You only live once, but if you do it right, once it enough.' To me, this quote is so perfect in that it sums up everything you need to know about life. Yeah, you only get one shot, but there's nothing to stop you from making the best of that one shot. Coming across that quote while wasting my time on the internet got me thinking about other inspirational quotes or just altogether cute quotes that might bright your day! So here we go :)

I often get told that I'm TOO happy, or TOO excited, or TOO crazy. Isn't that what life is for? You should go out of your way to make the best of every day and every situation given to you. There's no such thing as being TOO happy! It's much better than the alternative! It kind of seems like it was originally meant to be an insult. If someone says to me...'Wow..someone's excitable today.' Or 'Someone's too happy today.' No...I'm just being happy and excitable and generally loving life. After all, 'life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain!'

And really, let's face it, who wants to fit in? Fitting into a mold which we've been told to fit into is boring. Why should it be up to someone else to dictate who we are and where we belong? It's not! THAT'S THE THING! It's not up to your mum, or dad, or sister, or brother, or your neighbour, or some random you just met on the street. It's only up to you. I mean, sure, you can in with society's expectations for you...if you want...

But that can really get very boring. Because not everyone is meant to do the same thing. And everyone is unique. My absolute favourite quote EVERY is one by Dr Seuss, which I actually have inscribed on a ring that I got for my 16th birthday, and the quote is: 'There is no one alive who is youer than you.' This quote means the world to me because it's so true. You are so individual, that there is no way that society can set a course for you before you even know yourself what course you're going to follow!

So I'm a big believer in not letting other people tear you down. Of course, it's happened to all of us at some stage, but if you can ignore it, I promise you that you will be better for it! And as Frank Sinatra said ages and ages ago 'The best revenge is massive success'! Ignore those people who try to stop you. I think ending with my sister's favourite quote EVER here would be very, very appropriate:

Here's To The Crazy Ones. The misfits. The rebels. The trouble-makers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules, and they have no respect for the status-quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify, or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world - are the ones who DO !
