Don't stress, PROCRASTINATE!

I wish Time Turners actually existed!
It's almost that time of the year...exams. Whether it's university finals or high school end of the semester exams, I understand how stressful they can be! So let's look at some stress relief techniques (probably mainly for girls) that might help you to get through your exams...without using Facebook or Twitter or Instagram or Blogspot or Tumblr or Pinterest or any of the other types of social media available. Please don't even mention MySpace, that was soooo 2008!

Because you know that social media and television can basically take everything that you've just learnt and push it straight out of your head. It's pretty terrible right?

So my list of exam procrastination...sorry *cough* I mean study relaxation techniques!

Get lots and lots of sleep! But not too much. But enough! Because if you don't get enough sleep, you won't be productive at all in your efforts to study/procrastinate. And we don't want that!

Paint your nails! Who doesn't love the smell of acetone in the morning?! Answer: everyone. But seriously, paint your nails, let off a little steam. I swear, during the term I change my nail colour at least once a week, if not more. But during exam time, I change it about every day! Or sometimes even twice a day. It's a great way to relax, and who doesn't love pretty nails? :)

Go running! Not only is it a great way to get rid of your excess energy, but it helps to make you more focused on everything, particularly your study. Before Swotvac (study vacation) and exams, my exercise habits are not too bad. But during exams...wow! I basically become a professional athlete! Not quite, but you'd be surprised how good a form of procrastination it is! And if you're always looking our the window, you'll be so envious and distracted by what's out there that you'll forget to study! So go outside! Catch a bus somewhere, or drive, or grab your friends and do...stuff. It's also a good idea to study outside , because the fresh air will help to keep you awake throughout the really, really boring study!

Eat lots of chocolate. Don't even question it. Just do it! I bet that was what the Nike slogan is referring to! Eating chocolate! But seriously, blueberries, almonds and eggs, All super brain foods, so definitely get heaps of them when you're getting ready for your exams. Or even any berries in general, because they taste amazing, but blueberries are the best!

Drink tea. Or coffee. Or (dare I say it) energy drinks. Before I came to university, I was never a tea drinker. But it's actually really relaxing and herbal teas are really good for you. As for coffee and energy drinks, it's ok to have a couple of high-caffeine drinks if you're having a late night. Probably best not to do it the night before the exam though. And don't drink them every day!!

Listen to music in between your study. In your breaks, chuck on a super, amazing, dancing song and literally dance and sing like no one is watching. Use a hairbrush if you want.  Do whatever is best for you to relax. Rocking out to music will help to get excess energy out of your system and help you be more focused on your study. Just make sure that you don't listen to pop music while you're studying. It's really, really bad for retention of the stuff you want to learn, and I'm pretty sure you're not going to have an exam question on the lyrics of Thrift Shop!

So basically: Stay away from Social networking, movies and television during this time. I know it will be hard, but I believe in you. And you need to believe in me too, because I'm pretty sure I'm an addict! Remember, that if you have to, it's ok to check your status updates, or tweet something, or even blog. Because sometimes our way to relax is social networking. Just don't spend all of your time on there! I've probably forgotten a million ways to relax or procrastinate, so feel free to comment!

P.S. All of the photos are from my Instagram hehe :)

Also, Tweet me if you have any ideas for blogs or are procrastinating like me! @ahh_gigi
